"Basically, the snake was put away last night in an aquarium in a bag," Lt. Bobby Caruthers said. "[He] woke up this morning and discovered the snake was missing, ran into the infant's bedroom and saw the snake on top of the child." The snake was a 12' long Burmese python that weighted 50 lbs. The mothers boyfriend had the snake in a aquarium in the living room. When they awoke they found the snake missing. They ran to the 2 yr old infant girls room to find the snake in the crib with her. The snake had bitten her on the head a few times and was wrapped around her. The boyfriend stabbed the snake a few times to get it to release the little girl which was already dead. He did not have a permit to own the snake.

and to think I didn't like snakes before *chills*
I agree and it was not properly housed or permitted - bad!
wow snakes actually don't bother me all that much but omg...how awful. i just got the worst chills thinking about it. that little baby girl ... and yes, how absolutely irresponsible. VERY bad.
I feel horrible for the little girl and, yeah, for the python also. Something tells me he/she wasn't well taken care of either.
