I have been hearing the hype about this movie for over a week now, it's being said that this is the scariest movie EVER! Now I'm not one that will watch a horror movie, but I do feel drawn to it, but not to the extent that I will actually watch it but I'd love to hear straight from someone who actually did.
After a young, middle class couple moves into what seems like a typical suburban “starter” tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night.
Especially when they sleep. Or try to.
Some reviews include the following:
One of these images is of Katie sleepwalking, or rather sleep-standing, under the influence of her demon. We see her climb out of bed and simply stand, staring at Micah. As the minutes and hours tick by in fast-motion, her body seems to twitch back and forth with the tiny motions people make when they stand still. Just watching her stand for hours, swaying slightly, is possibly one of the most terrifying sequences I have ever seen on film.
This unsettling ultra-low-budget tale capitalizes on our innate fear of things that go bump in the night, and adds a supernatural element that will effectively terrorize even the toughest among us.
At best, Paranormal Activity makes the banal and commonplace deeply unsettling.
My head and neck start pulsating every time I tell someone about the film. I was uncomfortably scared for 90 minutes.
So is this ultra low budget movie going to outdo all it's predecessors or is it just all hype to get you to watch it. Will you go to see it?
If it's not showing in your neighborhood you can go here and type in your zip code to "demand" they show it near you.
There's actually a video of news footage on CNN where it looks like Michael Jackson is haunting his place now. You can see and hear a shadowy thing walk by the doorway. I'm not a big believer in ghots but I can't figure out how they faked this one.

(Sorry, facebook is the only place I could find the vid for osme reason)
yeah I saw that late one night (Candyhart posted it). CNN has some awesome cameras so they were able to catch that.
oh! I am a big "scare me" movie fan. I really want to see this and in the theatre for the full affect. I have heard reviews both ways good and bad. I'll have to post what I think of it after date night next weekend

It sounds like a movie my kids would watch - especially my little guy. Me well I'm not really into the horror or paranormal type of movies. If its low budget then I'm taking it was made by some want to be producer so for that fact I hope they do well.
