I stumbled across this and while it sounds, well useful, it sounds too good to be true. I have never heard of it so I'm a little sceptical, its an all in one office package AND it's free, anyone every heard of it? or has anyone ever used it?

Open Office is awesome. I recommend it to anyone who is out looking for less than legal copies of MS office. It can open and edit .doc files. It uses the ODF and is just as capable for most people as MS Office. It's an entire suite of software with replacements for Word, Powerpoint, Excel......but yeah, awesome.
