So this was not suppose to be leaked out YET but their video on it was leaked. Here is the new "PSP GO"
It looks pretty cool and lots of new features but like alot of game systems NOPE it wont play the current PSP games, nope mom and/or dad will have to cough up the $$$ for the new games
You can read more about it here:
Named the PSP Go, the new machine is smaller than the current PSP and conceals its control buttons with a sliding panel. It sports a 3.8" screen, 16 GB of on-board memory, and Bluetooth connectivity, and is substantially lighter than the current model.
But perhaps the biggest change is the removal of the PSP's much-criticized UMD optical drive, which added bulk to the system and reduced battery life. Instead of buying games on disk from stores, PSP Go owners will download them straight to the machine's internal memory, in a manner very similar to the iPhone's App Store.
I agree and its a huge turn off for parents. I know my son has the PS3 and alot (most like 99.9%) of PS2 games are not backwards compatible. I can see new games coming out only being able to work on the new systems but they should make it that the new systems were backwards compatible. My kids have PSP's now and I know they will want this, I'm not so excited
I think parents and even ppl in general would be more willing to upgrade if they were backwards compatible. If my kids could use their current PSP games on them I would have no issue picking up a few for Christmas (I'm guessing they would come out in the fall) but now I'll have to think more about it.
Single & Not Looking
I think it's disgraceful that you cannot use the old games
