Just a reminder, mother's day is this sunday! And i need some ideas! I have no idea what to get my mother this year. What are you all doing?
My mom is out of state so I always write her a poem or find some favorite pictures of us or her and the grandkids or me and my brother growing up and make a slideshow and send it to her. Then I follow it up with a DVD copy after she's watched it. It's not expensive and she looks forward to a new one every year
Well were going over to my mom's house for a dinner with some relatives. My grandmother is getting quite old and its kinda more of a day of celebrating her and my mom. My mom is hard to shop for since she has everything. Generally I'll do a cheesy card and a decorative potted plant. Her birthday was mid April and I got her a computer so I think I have taken care of her for the year (jk). We have a local chocolateir here that makes the best chocolate so I'll probably stop and pick up a box for her and grandma plus the plants and cards.
Here are some good advice on what to get and what not to get.
As a mom I can tell you I'll take the cheesy homemade stuff from the kids any day (vs them buying me something). From my hubby well just telling me "Happy Mothers Day" would be a nice start. Nope I get to hear "Your not my mom". So any guys reading this let me just say that is not a good line to use on the wife unless your goal is to get her to not speak to you.
Oh smartmom my husband tried that on me once. My reply was humm let's see.. I wash your underwear, pick your clothes up off the floor, I make your meals, shop for your clothes, dress you when it is important and take care of you when your sick... humm sounds like I am pretty darn close .. I always get a card now
Yeah I tried that but no luck. That is ok I have full access to his bank account and I always make sure he gets me something nice - like a day at he spa. No worries I make sure I thank him for it. "Hey hon the trip to the spa for Mothers Day is just want I wanted, thank you *kiss*"
Thatta Girl! You really are a smart mom!!
PS-- talk about dumb guys & mother's day. how about this deusch move: when you're Preggo and it's mother's day and the guy says, what? you're not a mom YET. ohhhhh pleeeeease.

Single & Not Looking
Well my mom is in Ireland and Mother's day over there is in March. Her birthday is in April so I usually just end up sending her flowers for her birthday and a card for Mother's day in March and for the one here in May. I dunno, gift cards are always good, you can't really go wrong with that or if she has some kind of hobby, stuff like that is usually good too.
