Ok how awesome does this sound? No controllers? Motion detectors? Voice recognition? I'm loving it. Hmmm wonder what it's going to sell for?

Microsoft's XBOX team took fresh aim at Nintendo yesterday, announcing a new 3D control scheme for its game console aimed at luring non-gamers in the same way the Wii has done.

Xbox owners will soon be able to listen to Web-streamed music, update their Facebook or Twitter pages and watch movies in high definition instantly on the device, without having to wait on a sluggish download.

What's more, they won't have to use the buttons and thumbsticks that line a traditional game controller. A new motion-detecting and voice-recognizing camera that can "see" a player's arm and hand motions will allow XBOX owners to interact with the device with a wave of their hand or a spoken command.

It might be interesting to see where this goes... I hope it comes out as well as it sounds. If so, and they get enough games to sign on, then XBOX will take over as the leader of the pack.

Haven't heard from Sony yet, but Microsoft might take E3 this year. I was just reading over the Nintendo meeting this morning, and although I love my Wii, I wasn't impressed. Mario Brothers should have come out long ago, and the Wii should have come with the extra Wii remote attactment in the first place.

Well, I know that there are already some games that use the voice recognition software. I believe one of those games might be Gears of War....they don't use it for the entire game, but for some of it.

Great so your telling me now I get to see my kids jump up and down MORE and now they can yell at the machine. Wooo can't wait for this one. I'm guessing I'll be shelling out another $350 (or more) for the new systems, I mean after all we have every know systems (unless it has that apple thingie on it).

Wish they find a cure for the RROD (red ring of death). I get crazy whenever I get that and it sucks cause sometimes you get an Indian bloke trying to explain to you what's going on. I hardly ever understood them. (I'm not being a racist)

No you're not being racist, I know exactly what you're talking about. They hire people to work from India because it's cheaper. The dreaded three rings of death....their answer is always to send in the console sans the hard drive. Of course that's after they keep you on the phone making you think you're crazy by making you unplug and plug your XBOX...
