Hard to tell. The American public in truth, has no real integrity. OJ murdered 2 people, but because they were white, he's black, and he's a celebrity, he not only got away with it, but he even has no problem still getting white women (or women in general) to be with him.

Micheal Vick funded brutal dog fighting, but because he's a talented athlete, he spent very little time in jail for it, and was right out on the playing field earning obscene amounts of money, half the time, not even playing, but just standing on the sidelines watching, like anyone else in the stands. He even still has plenty of fans supporting him, because he can connect a football to a reciever.

Tiger Woods was very publicly married, but yet had no problem getting an astonishing amount of women to be his regular booty call.

But since Mel Gibson is a white guy, and he dropped the big N-word bomb, he'll probably be crucified (no pun intended). But since the public's lack of integrity factor is involved, he'll probably still get movie scripts sent to him and earn many more millions at some point in the future. In fact, I wouldn't even be surprised if he turns into somewhat of a "hero" for it. Even I'm considering stealing his "you should just smile" line ...
