Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James "Rhodey" Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, must forge new alliances -- and confront powerful enemies".

I loved the first one as well and am real exited for the sequel...only thing is I don't know who Mickey Rourke is supposed to be playing. I've seen posters of him and I don't recognize the character, maybe because I was never into Iron Man books much. Anyone know?
He plays a villian called "Whiplash". I bet he's going to be awesome, despite his disastrous plastic surgery.
Whiplash (Mickey Rourke) sports a power pack on his chest that looks similar to the one that Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) uses.
"The technologies are definitely related," says director Jon Favreau. "That's part of the core theme of the film."
The villain's alter ego, Ivan Vanko, is a Russian who "has constructed his own version of a suit," Favreau says. Among the creative innovations: a pair of whips, powered by the suit's glowing chest piece, that are expected to keep Iron Man cracking.
Whiplash "is going to light them up," Rourke quips.
Is there an actual guy called 'Whiplash' in the books because he seems a lot like Omega Red to me. Maybe they didn't feel like giving Omega's backstory for some reason...I'll look it up.
I might go see it this weekend though, haven't been to the movies in a few months. Even if it is a made up villian it won't matter much...Iron Man, War Machine and Mickey Rourke as the villian sounds like a recipe for awesome!
Edit: OK there is a guy called Whiplash in the books but they should have stayed with his original look...The Gimp from Pulp Fiction

maybe they wanted to take full advantage of Mickey Rourke's bad facial surgery.
Well tomorrow is the big day yayy!! Anybody have any plans to see it this weekend?
I really want to see it but wanting and doing can be too different things. I guess it all depends on how the weekend goes.
We might be going to the midnight opening of it tonight.
I have no doubt it'll be awesome. They got the whole "introduction" stuff out of the way in the first one, now it's just all story and action.
I think Mickey Rourke will be killer in it. His bad cosmetic surgery will make him look all the more weird and evil: perfect.
And can't have an Iron Man thread w/out a trailer
