Hey all resident geniuses!
I am having a frustrating problem with IE. I cannot get a webpage up and I get the error message that it has no connection to the internet. I can log in with Firefox, no prob. My sister had sent me an email with a pdf attachment, and everytime I tried to access it, the log in message came up. I disabled pop up blocker and the AdBlock Plus thinking maybe there was something there blocking the connection. Any thoughts?
you have to be a little more clear on your problem, but from what im hearing is 2 things, one you cannot connect to the site from IE, but can from FF, yet even after you download the PDF the PDF itself is asking for a password to be accessible, is that correct ?
okay Guys, I'm back! Either way I cannot log on to IE. If I change user the problem goes away. I am able to log on to IE. In other words, same computer, I hit start , select change user, hit my IE button and I get my internet connection. If I just start up and hit IE I get the message that the webpage cannot be displayed and then it goes on to list the possible reasons for the error. Same thing happens if I try to run the pdf.
Firefox is fine.
Seeing IE connects when I switch user, wouldn't that mean something is blocking the connection when I'm having the problem? Just sayin...
how do you have the profiles set up user wise? I mean one is admin is the other one set up as a guest, or just a second profile? Did you try changing how they are looked at to see if that makes any difference at all?

oh, the other thing is, I get the message "0 javascript" or something like that in the lower left hand corner.
as smartmom says, i think i boils down to just your user settings for the account that cannot access IE,

Just to be clear, when you try to use IE without clicking the pdf first, can you still surf the net? It's only happening when you start up the PDF first?
