So how old is to old to have a baby? Well in 2006 there was a 66 yr old woman who gave birth to twins. She was from Spain , she had the invetro done at a clinic in LA. When she had the procedure done she lied and said she was 55 (there cut off age to have the procedure done). She died yesterday leaving 2 yr old twins.

OK 66 yrs old that is crazy to have kids then. You would think it was the youngest huh? Nope there were two women in India that had children in their 70's. The oldest lady was 72 yrs old and had twins. So what she will be 90 when they would graduate high school. Here is the 70 yr old mom

So how old is to old and should laws be set up (atleast in the US) against it over a certain age?
I had my kids at age 24, 26 & 28. There would be no way in hell I would have kids that late in life. Heck after the last one I had my tubes cut and tied so no oops - I was done. What happened to enjoying life in your later years?
I agree there is no way in heck that I would want to start a new family and run after the kiddos at even my age. I have a girlfriend who is my age and had a little one. All I could think is
she will be starting kindergarten when my oldest starts college. I can't imagine having a child in my 50's let alone my 60's. Your right I don't think its fair to the kids either. If you want a family at that late age then I think its time to adopt and maybe get a little older child. Besides I look forward to enjoying my later years one day and grandkids some time in the distant (very distant) future.
I do agree with devil that some that are in their 20's and 30's still are not mature enough to have kids.
My mother just told me that she read that 27 was the best age to have children, then it was downhill after that! I began laughing hysterically and told her I was screwed since I'm not having my first child until about 30 years old.
I think 40+ is pushing it. I really don't want to be in my 60's before my children are out of my house. Oh, wait, my parents will probably be in their 60's when I finally decide to grow up and they had me in their early 20's.
!
Yeah I'm 41 and there is NOOOOOOOOOO way I would want to have another child but I know some that have. I think 30's is fine. You need to be young when they hit the teenage years

Hell. Where else?
I don't know how old is too old, but I'm gonna guess in your 60s is probably over the line. People want to tell the world that having kids is their right and age is only a number blah blah blah, but in reality they are thinking more of themselves and not the uncertain future or needs of the would-be children. Some people shouldn't have kids for the kids' sake- like this perfect example. If it happened naturally then I would be of a slightly different opinion, but to go somewhere and lie to have it done at 66, that's just irresponsible and stupid. Now what happens to the two 2 year olds?
Semi related thought I was just saying to wife last night when we saw this story on the news: I feel old enough, I started having kids a decade later than how old my Dad was when I was born. It seems weird to think that I can remember when he was 35, and that is kinda the age he will always be in my mind. I was 10 at the time. My kid won't have a vivid memory of me at 35, that's only a couple years away! So they will always remember me as a 45 year old? How buckets that seems wacky to me...
