Thanks dogg for the vote of confedince, But alas I've not setup what you are talking about myself. I know we do have a few servers here that do use load balancing nics but I havn't set that up myself. And as far as the virtual type apps like your describing I dont' have much experiance in that department either other then just using them. It would be interesting to set soemthign like that up though. I just havn't yet.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

Actually,
I didn't do too bad with it. The real key is make sure you are using a two machines with 2 NICs per machine. As this was a proof of concept, I only used two beefy desktops but with one onboard NIC per machine.
This will be interesting as the next step is to gain the funding for "real" servers to really see this in action. There are still remaining issues, key among them is the fact that the 2008R2 OS is still in evaluation stage.
Still, I can't help but be a little proud that I helped pull off the results that we have so far.
While on the subject of those things related to cloud computing, maybe Facebook uses Google Docs?

Would save a lot of time spent on the API, if there was access to the logs...
Course, that is a bit more intrusive than breaking a TOS.
Hey Ashton you should check out this thread I think you would be very interested in it. Doing the Google Wave I think its a huge step to cloud computing Plus its ultra cool. I signed up to get on board when its available come Sept.
That looks pretty cool.
I was sold a bit on Google Docs when I collaboratively assisted with a spreadsheet that outlined costs for VoIP project. we would simultaneously fill in columns to come up with final numbers...pretty cool.

There are three episodes (haven't watched the third yet, some parts may be NSFW). This is the first episode on youtube and runs about 10 minutes. Funny as heck, at least to me ;-)
