So right now it's a moot point because they're all out (of the vaccine) unless we travel 40 miles with no guarantee that we will be able to get it. But "more will be coming soon!"
All along i have been really skeptical of the vaccine because I thought of it as a new vaccine that hasn't been tested at all. Well, i just got back from the pediatrician's and inquired about it. He brought it all into focus for me explaining how the H1N1 flu is just that--a different strain of the flu, and a bad one... and that the vaccine is a flu shot--nothing more nothing less. And that every year we have a different flu shot. The h1n1 flu shot has been tested more than the annual ones are and his whole family has gotten the shot. He is as comfortable with it as the regular flu shot.
Now i'm not agreeing with a lot of other stuff--how the govn't has HYPED this "pandemic" scaring the crap out of people like me who are healthy otherwise into thinking that they might die if they don't get the vaccine. From what i hear, it's only people or children with underlying conditions who are dying from this flu (and people also die from the flu every year).
Also i was watching some news segment--you know interviewing someone of importance about the severity of H1N1 and how you Must get the vaccine. {I'm paraphrasing} They asked him: "So, if you've had the flu already it most likely was the H1N1?" He said "Yes, the seasonal flu has not yet begun to take place so it was the H1N1 that you would've had" they asked, "Then if you've had it already should you not bother with the vaccine?" he said "uhhh...well, you can't be sure that you've had the H1N1 so you should definitely get the vaccine" mhmm. well this is where i would insert my El Rushbo thoughts&analysis, but i'll stop.
I have not been worried about myself, but my young kiddo who has breathing issues. If you or someone you know has a breathing issue, you know how scary it can be when they literally are struggling to breathe. I do not need this a-hole of a virus making that happen to him, or worse. Also, half of his daycare is out with H1N1 right now--very high fevers and i'm not sure what else. I guess right now it's a waiting game(what's going to happen first: Will he get it from his peers or get the shot?)
Have you gotten the H1N1 vaccine/Will you be getting the H1N1 vaccine when it is made available in your area?
Well if its available I will get it if its available. I take a really strong med that lowers my immune so I'm always told by my dr to get the vaccines. If I get sick I have to go off of my meds and that only starts a bad chain reaction (I'm on a drug called enbrel). I did get the standard flu shot and I have a dr appt on the 11th so I'm sure if they have it in the office I'm getting stuck. Heck even if they don't have it I'm getting stuck I think they see me and think human pin cushion
oh on the piggie pic. Looks like a bunch of men waiting for a bar of hot women to open
There are plenty of shots here, and I won't be getting one. I don't think its neccessary.
---When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.---
Also i should mention that there is also a nasal mist form of the vaccine (H1N1 LAIV), but if you are wanting to get it check this info sheet (2nd page, under "5") to see if you should get the shot form instead.
The H1N1's injection info sheet is here.
