How tragic is this story?
Alicia Sanchez and her 11-year-old son Carlos set out for an overnight camping trip in Death Valley. Five days later rescuers found Sanchez badly dehydrated and Carlos dead. It's possible she depended too much on her car's GPS.

While GPS I think is very useful and extremely helpful, depending on it too much is maybe not so wise. I have used it in the past and found it helpful. So the question is how much do you rely on a GPS? Do you think they are a good invention or would you rather stick with a good old fashioned up to date road map?

I loveeeeeeeee my Garmin GPS. One nice feature with Garminn (not sure about the others) is you can update the maps online - I do that often. I use my GPS all the time traveling and when I do fly I generally pack it for the rental car
