it's really weird that you mentioned this. Just last night I was checking out and adding new Google Labs addons and saw this. I was wondering if the time changing option on it was new or always been that way, since I couldn't remember. I'm wondering how it works behind the scenes ... I have a feeling the email just isn't actually sent until the time limit is up. Sit's in some invisible buffer or something.
Anyway, here's an updated screenshot for anyone who may be looking for it (click on the "settings" link in your gmail account to get to it):

You're right. It's technically a "wait before sending, while I consider if I just put my foot in my mouth"
But I'm pretty certain the Google Gods could figure out a way to truly unsend it, as long as it has not yet been read. Or maybe even if the account has not yet been accessed by the receipient.
PS. You're using my favorite program in the world. Snag It (aren't you). Use it all the time at work, and co-workers complain that all my technical reports are too high class.

yep, I loooove snagit. And the more I use it and learn new features in it, the more I love it. I've got mine setup now so that the screenshot reticle pops up just by pressing a little button on my mouse.

Nice. Funny we're discussing this, they recently replaced my work computer, and have yet to install Snag-It. Needless to say, I've been emphatically complaining to IT daily. All I need is a stupid admin to come and type in their password. SMH
The uberduber-geek in me would just be using the portable version of Snag-It on a Flash Drive then.

Already done.
It's purely principle at this point. Along with my bad memory, I'm lucky if I get out the door with my id, key, swipe card and Nook for the gym. Adding my almighty keychain of Flash Drives to the list is only successful some of the time.
Granted, I know I could keep it here at work, but I like them all together, and they all need to be on my person at any given moment. One may never know where or when you might need that portable Snag-It, Mixcraft, or Calibre (
, yes I don't like it, but have a portable version. It's for emergency converts), or when I might be near someone who has/wants ebooks.

Single & Not Looking
Another Google update - You now can increase this feature to a maximum of 30 seconds. Which in my opinion is MUCH better than the original 5, yet I'd still rather be able to unsend anytime before it's been read.
