So for quite a while now, my laptop has been running slowwwww, noisy and keeps locking up. I tried a lot of things but most would only solve my problem temporarily. I"m hoping *fingers crossed* that this will be the solution. My computer is just over 2 years old so its probably time for me to clean out the dust. Sounds simple enough, will let you all know how it goes Biting Nails Anyone ever done this before? Did you notice a difference in performance?

Re: Fix A Noisy Overheated Laptop

I use to clean out my sons old laptop. It was a dell and I would simply blow can air into the vents on the bottom side. Just make sure it is off and that its unplugged and you will be fine. My old pc was pentium 4 so it would run really hot.

My computers here now are towers and I dust them down about every 2 months. I haven't noticed a speed difference because it doesn't get dusty enough to slow it down. I have clear sides on the side of my towers so I don't like to see dust. If you have never cleaned out a tower you can see what the inside of one looks like here: Computer Guts

So its easy enough then? I was reading some of the reviews and they said that it's not as easy as it sounds and to be careful, blah blah blah...the last thing I want to do is completely mess it up.

Well would I take it apart no because if you do you could void any warrantee. Just blow some can air into the vents and dust it that way - make sure its off and unplugged Smile
