I have now babysitted my daughters from a distance on Myspace for years, without having a Myspace account, But it seems as of lately they have moved to Facebook. I am not at all familiar with Facebook. Is it possible view thier accounts in the same manner as I did thier Myspace or do I need a Facebook account?
Which leads to my next question. If I need to have a Facebook account, and I find thier accounts, can they tell I viewed thier page?

Make sense? !

Hey stormchaser, a lot of ppl have moved over from MS to Facebook. Facebook is a lot more secure and it's not as easy as myspace when it comes to spying on ppl.. You have to open a Facebook account and you can search for them by name and they won't be able to tell if you go onto their page. However, the thing is there's probably not an awful lot that you will be able to see, at most, maybe a couple of their friends, it all depends on how strict they have their privacy settings. They can even go as far as being unsearchable and you may never find them. First step would be is opening a Facebook account and take it from there. You can search our Facebook forum on here for tips and tricks that you may find helpful. Also checking back in with us, we're always available to help out in any way we can, some of us on here are also learning as we go along on Facebook.

Re: Finding my daughters on Facebook

In addition to what MissB said, we have a couple of minor tricks in our premium area to see some normally hidden things on people's Facebook profiles (like if they may have sent someone some naughty gifts, or drinks, etc.) and if/when new tricks come along, they get posted in there. For the most part though, at the moment, Facebook is pretty locked up tight, but you will need a Facebook account in order to see anything at all, assuming they do have some things out in the open.

Hey stormchaser - I can check to see if the profiles are atleast private if you want me to. Its kinda hard to see anything without a profile. You should still have my email addy. Hope all is well with you and the family Smile

Missb and dogg were correct there are some goodies in the Premie area that might get you more info if their profiles are private.

Hugs to you

Re: Finding my daughters on Facebook

Unless you leave a comment or something they will not know you visited their page. Visiting their page however is the issue. You would need to be friends with them unless their profile is public to everyone or people in their networks (networks=city, grad. class, etc. are examples) here is a clickable link for more info. if their profile is private, you could request their friendship... it's not such a longshot you never know! people are adding their parents as friends nowadays!
