So while today doing my internet reading I ran into a few sites that were discussing the application and fan page of
"Fan Check". OK this got my attention since I did the whole fan check Q & A game in my notes. Hummm I don't like the sound of this.

Here is the skinny of it from what I have read on sites like Mashable and on Shoutpedia they say NO. There is no reports from sites like McAfee or Symantic. From what it looks like this is only a rumor going around the net. However if you go searching it they say you run the risk of finding something you might not want to find. I guess the bad guys (virus and Malware writers) are cashing in on the fear of others and linking some not so good stuff.

So how did the rumor start? Well when you install the app you will see this:

I dunno some how I don't remember this. What I did to was remove the app from my facebook. If your wanting to do this too here is how to do it:

• Go to your facebook
• Go to your settings (top right hand corner)
• Go to Application Settings
• Find "Fan Check" and click the "X" on it to remove it.

Better safe then sorry. I will say I did scan my computer with both NOD32 my antivirus and with SuperAntiSpyware and both came out clean
