Ok, so I'm trying to open services and vista premium,
and I get this error message. when I hit cancel, I get a box that says windows console has shutdown.
Any idea guys? thanks

Just curious, does the same thing happen when you hit the windows key + R, and type "services.msc" (no quotes)?

doing it that way, the services folder came up fine. However when I click on a service, right click and hit properties, nothing happens. Its weird.....

So it's something more kernal level. Have you tried disabling any Antivirus (type), and Firewall utilities that are running? They hook into the OS pretty deep.
