So if your like me you probably have dozen and dozens of items plugged in around your house that you don't use often. I know I have a ton. Or do you have items that are plugged in and on all the time? I can tell you my pc runs 24/7. I generally shut down like once a week. I shut down last night just to clean it but since I run programs my pc is aways on. How about cell phones do you all leave the chargers plugged in even when no phone is plugged in - yeah I'm guilty.
Hummmm wonder why my electric bill is aways around $500. a month - most months more some less. So here is a i intreasting article about the subject and its a intreasting read...
It's well-known that most electronic devices in our homes are sucking up energy even while they are turned off. But for all the information out there, many questions remain. I got hundreds of reader questions after writing the post What's wasting energy in your home right now. Below are answers to the five most common inquiries: [click the article to read]
Yep same here except for the laptop that is fully changed in its bag. I know I should unplug but I don't. I do however make sure all lights are off prior going to work and a/c is adjusted but that is about it.
Ick, I'm guilty. I need to change those habits. It's hard to believe a cell phone charger is sucking energy even when it's not charging your phone.
I know and I have 5 plugged in at any given time.
... That's a lot of work to go round unplugging all those kinds of things, especially that a lot of them are under desks etc.
ive heard that you should use the battery on the laptop first then charge it. dont use it whileits charging. it messes with the batteries memory and it will wear faster.
im also guilty of leaving things plugged in even when not in use or charging. my husband has pointed it out to me many times. anything with a "box" (ac adapter) that plugs into the wall uses electricity. cell phone chargers, baby monitors, etc.
guilty...laptop, cell phone, etc...it's pretty bad...i do try to remember before i leave the apt...doesn't always happen though.
"Most everyone's mad here.
"You may have noticed that I'm not all there myself."
Smart thing to do, too bad I don't have everything plugged into the same power strip. That would make things too easy.
Somewhere between fantasy and reality...
