ok. So I have a gateway computer. and heres the specs kinda.
celeron processor. 1.7mhz
512Mb ram
30GB Hd. (1-20GB, 1-10GB)

Problems
The processor itself is literally burning up, now i have 2 heatsinks soldered together with a cooling fan attchted to them,
and my comp still shuts down due to over heating.
I know the processor is walking out the door, so now my question is this,
does anyone know where I can get a cheap processor?
is the one i got fixable for a few more months?
can someone literally give me one ?
due to being unemployed, cahsi s hard to come by,
Tongue laterz.

Re: Dying Computer.

I had an issue with a graphics card fan once. While I waited for the company to send me a new fan for the card, I literally opened the case and clipped one of these on it, pointing the fan into the computer. Worked like a charm.

Re: Dying Computer.

Ouch, Sounds like that old dawg is on it's last legs. But to keep it up for a few more months then yes I'd suggest taking the side off of it and getting a regular fan that can sit on the floor and blast air at it. Maybe even jsut opening up the case could help. Is the computer located in a small enclosed area? If so move it more out in the open so it can get more air flow. Also you may want to get yourself a can of air and blow out the inside of it good. Could have dust or spider webs and that sort of thing building up in there. But it sounds like to me you have been insde the thing before. But it's worth a shot. good luck!
