I said other because I can't speak for anyone and say if they would be able to forgive. I can see it both ways if it were me. I might want to forgive the person, and not hold a grudge for the rest of my life. Or I may never forget the pain they caused and just might not be able to forgive.

i agree completly. i guess it would depend on the level of abuse and maybe the effort it would take to take the burden off the abused childs shoulders. sometimes forgiveness could mean closure. it doesnt mean you forget.

I think you do what you need to do to find your inner peace. I don't know if I could move on so easily but I grew up in a wonderful family so I dunno.

I vote other. Forgiveness is a priviledge that some simply dont deserve. In my opinion anyway
