Well if you hate your facebook name that you may have chosen in a hurry or maybe there was a typo in it or possibly you picked your name while a little tipsy don't worry. At one time facebook had said that once you pick it you're stuck with it well they had a change of heart. You can now change it - but be careful this time because you can only change it once.
So how do you chage it? Well go to settings > username then pick another one

Yeah I grabbed my name as fast as I could but I'm happy with "smartmom" so I'll be keeping it. I have seen some pretty bad ones though that had to make you think they were on something when they picked it. It will be curious to see it now myspace follows and will allow members to change their name once.

I jumped on a name that seemd like a good idea. I did it right at the start time. Later I thought of something better. I'm going to change mine but now I'm taking my time and coming up with something better. ALthough I may just end up doing the standard name thing.
