Well, I didn't include Best Vegas Buffet - mainly due to wait time - and I didn't want to wait any longer than I had to. ;-)
Hint: there is a big tower outside.

I'm pretty sure there was a Star Trek convention over at Circus Circus that weekend..or something similiar.
The younger crowd were all sitting out in the hallway, clustered in groups, around laptops. Doing what...I have no idea ;-)
I made it point to try and seek out the more mature, yet slightly less geeky, crowd.
Thus, the bar directly outside of the conference....

Ewwww Buffet - were all types of ppl put their hands in your food. That's not food thats a germ fest. Oh well if you go you have my number Ashton and I treat ya to dinner one night (gf too if she goes).

Anyone going drop me a message and maybe we could meet up. I know a few that are going.
So I'm in Vegas at Defcon and having a blast. I meet some very interesting ppl while standing in line to get our badges. There is about 6k ppl here so the lines were long but we got there early so it was about a 2 hour wait for us. I totally didn't mind it because like I said we were chatting away.
So this is what this years badges and items look like:

Lots of great talks the next few days so I'll take notes and let you all know what extra goodies I should find.
The CD contains information about Defcon 18, some photos, information on the badge and how to program it and the filmware for the badge. It's very cool!

Speaking for myself, I'm sure if I were in Vegas, I wouldn't end up at a nerd convention.
People that go to those tend to be along the lines of Star Trek / Star Wars / Dungeons & Dragons nerds, not really my people. Besides, I tend to space out on any speech longer than ~10 minutes.
