Anyone been following the news out of Albany, NY regarding the state senate? Earlier this month Democrats lost their position of power (which they had for a few months after decades of Republican rule) to Republicans when two of their own party defected. There was shouting, rebellion...Democrats storming out and shutting off the lights as they left...all the things government officials should be doing. *rolls eyes* It's a mess in Albany, the Governor is fed up, bills aren't being passed. This has nothing to do with the good of the masses. It's a bunch of suits on a power trip. The two renegade Democrats aren't exactly icons of morality either. One of them, Hiram Monserrate has gone back to the Democratic caucus, but not before a Republican made his way back to the role of Senate Majority leader.
Basically they're not doing any work up in Albany, and talks this morning went nowhere because neither party wants to give into the demands of the other. Corruption, greed, intrigue...all the makings of a best-seller. And the worst for New York tax-payers.

Out of my mind
Reportedly this all happened because a whole lot of people, democrats included didn't like Malcom Smith who was/is the majority leader. I don't really pay attention to state stuff but I do like Governor Patterson's reaction to it..."I'll force them all into work every day, including weekends and holidays, until they come up with a solution"
Kinda like shutting a bunch of stupid kids in a room until they learn to behave. I hate politicians sooo much
