alright, so i use xfire chat for in game chat, and i also wana play itunes, the only problem is when i play itunes, it plays through my headset, not my main speakers, the headset works fine, but you see where my problem is ?
all computer noise, goes through my headset, i want computer noise on my speakers, and the voice chat on my mic, anyone got idea how this owuld be done?
oh and i have mic/speaker jacks in the front which is for the headset, and mic/speaker jacks in the back, but i use the speaker jack in the back jsut for my main speakers,
my driver is soundmax audio,
yea, its a normal plug n play item, non-usb, i plug it in, and theres no change, but it can still be used, like im using it right now i can hear and talk and be heard, no problem, but if i play itunes, its coming in through my headset,
What is the default device for the itunes?
I might be wrong, but I don't think it's possible to send audio output to different devices depending on the program(s) being used. Once you plug the headset in it just automatically sends all audio to them instead of your regular speakers.
It was just for that reason that the mic headset I bought for games and stuff don't have any earphones on them, it's just a mic (like an operator has) and it fits on your head like a headset, but the sound all still comes through the regular speakers. I wanted that so I could get the best of both worlds; be able to have a mic headset and still get the good sound from my good speakers, subwoofer, etc.
ugh, this is bothering me like crazy, mayb if i get another soundcard ? 1 card for output on the music and game, and the integrated for the mic n headset ?

If you try to install a soundcard board into a slot and use the integrated soundcard at the same time, as soon as you plug the card into the slot, the integrated sound will be overridden, and your system will use the board instead. If you get 2 separate boards inserted into 2 different slots, I'm not sure. I've never really heard of anyone doing that. I don't see any way to select which sound device to use within the iTunes preferences though if you're planning on only trying it with iTunes and not another player.
Make sure your default device is set to be your desktop speakers. Then in the settings someplace in xfire you should be able to set your input device to be your headset. I use vent for voice chat and vent allows me to choose where to send my vent sound. I can set it to default device or any other device connected to my pc. Even though there not usb it still may see it as a device in windows. At least this is how I do it with my pc and vent.

Did you check the devices to see if the default device has changed?
