From my experience with Comcast, I expect they are manipulating things to drive revenue. They want you to upgrade. They want to send out an independent contractor to drive service revenue. Don't think so??? Don't think they could or would do so??? Don't kid yourself.
For me it was just that I hadn't paid my bill... Whoops
Starting to look like I may have to change service.
no loss of power during storm V works no picture printed on screen soa00 channel will be available shortly is there a time frame for return to full channel service?
Code s0a00 means there's not enough signal to create the picture. Different channels use different freq. They may be next to each other on the guide however they may be in two opposite ends of the spectrum. I.e. ch.3 59.25mhz, ch.4 108.67mhz. Usually if certain channels are giving the message an others come in its due to old splitters or lose connections. If you want to troubleshoot try making sure to have the box on one of the first splits and tighten all connections with a 7/16 wrench. Good luck
GREAT post! Thanks Mporter. I've got that problem and it's stuck around for a long time now. Most channels come in fine, but a few here and there will show me s0a00 and I've just kinda said "screw it" out of frustration. I'm going to go have a look at the splitter next time I get the chance.
Mine was due to a loose connection with the coax connector at the wall. Simple tightening fixed it immediately.
If I own a business and a house that both have comcast (seperate accounts), can I use a box from my house at my business? I hooked one up 2 days ago and it was working fine, then today get the S0a00 message. Does comcast know where the box is? I am afraid to call them and get in trouble.
Comcast cable tv uses obsolete technology, that's why!
and they charge you a bundle for it.
Incredible how they make so much money!

As of 2011-10-27, the Comcast self-help options to select when calling for a signal refresh are 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1
