smartmom please remove my last post
I removed all of the links on your last post - the links to your blog so that your still private. I'm thinking its a scrapper but I'm not sure. I'm googling and I found THIS and they seam to think the same. Stardogg might be the better person to ask. If you want me to still remove the post let me know but I removed all personal info. Dogg might be able to help you more if he sees it. Let me know.
Thank you for the privacy...your much smarter than me....We,ll have Stardogg look at it....
I can,t have this blog end up in the wrong hands....
thank you....
Well I see alot of folks on google asking but no one getting a real answer. Most are saying they "think" its a site scrapper. I know you can block them but I don't know how to be honest. Dogg is much smarter then me so I leave it to him to try and help you. I wish I could help you more. I'm off to bed so good night
Your blog looks great - your a wonderful man Stormchaser
Heya Stormchaser. From what I gather you're Hosting the blog on blogger/blogspot, so you're options are pretty slim as far as blocking IP addresses. Normally you could use a range of tools, from .htaccess to your hosts firewall, etc.
However, I have heard that this is a pretty nice little tool to block IP addresses on free hosts. I haven't ever used it myself, but you can give it a shot. Clicky for Toolator.
Hope that helps.
I dont know what Ripper 0 is, but my new website was accessed by a IP in the UK using it. I don't think it is a scraper as it was on the site for less than a minute and only accessed the home page. But if you want to block an IP address, use the .htaccess method. Open your .htaccess file (or create one and place it in your site's root) and place this code near the top: deny from XX.XX.XXX.XXX (replace x's with the IP you wish to block).
I routinely block all IPs from China, India, Russia and other countries where spammers and attackers are notorious for attacking from. You can use the .htaccess file to block entire IP pools like 'deny from 119.0.0.0/15' and so forth. Just Google ".htaccess ip blocks" and you'll find sites that give you the entire list of IPs from a country you wish to block traffic from.
I know its midnight but can anyone give me a hand on this one??
