"Before smartphones, social networks, and other must-have tech, it wasn't a badge of honor to be called a geek. Here's a look back at the evolution of the nerds."
This article gave me a chuckle, dang! we've come a long way!!

Haha could be me and my brother too. We thought we were hot sh!t when we were the first on our street to own, I can't even remember its name, but it was like a ping pong game, black and white and we hit a little ball back and forth for HOURS...
We used to have the kids lining up outside our door for a turn.

Hell, I remember the first time I had my hand on a "Computer".
It was way back in '87 on a
hot Comadore 64.

It was amasing what we could do with that thing
Comparing those days to today it sounds silly but if I was never expose to the C64
I most likely would not have been a developer of trade today.
Oh yeah my brother and I we went from atari to comadore 64 and we were going to be computer programmers -
Its funny looking back not but your right if you had that you were the cool kids on the block for sure.
I remember those, wow, big clonky things, but they did serve a purpose!

Love the walk back in time.
this so could have been my brother and I:
OK THIS PICTURE had me in tears. WTF is this like geek porn or something with him spread out on a desk - funny funny stuff here!
Ya know its funny looking back in my own life. I'm 41 and I've gone to 2 class reunions (10th & 20th) and I love to people watch. The popular jocks, cheerleaders and preps would show up and looking at them you have to go oh yeah buddy you really made it in life (not). Those are the folks that come in these cheesy looking outfits in a mass attempt to still look cool. Then in the door walks some really nice looking person who you can tell with out asking really made something of themselves. You find yourself cocking your head sideways going who is that over there. I'll tell you who it is the Geeks/ Nerds that when in school you could have cared less about. I love it. I tell my kids all the time screw the jocks, cheerleaders and preps its the nerd that are really the cool kids *hoping some rubs off*. I dunno I have boys and some how out of my speech the only thing I think they hear is the "screw the cheerleaders" *ok hides from critter now*...boys!
disclaimer: the reference "cheerleader" in no way reflects critter's daughter who I'm sure is as smart as her smart momma
