I saw it in 3d over the weekend and was blown away. I was a little bit afraid that the 3d would give me a headache or make me sick but it did not. And as to it looking not as bright or colorful I thought it looked amazingly bright and colorful. Just that the environment was 3d and I felt like I was actually there in a way. I will probably see it again in 2d eventually and I kinda feel like I'll be a little sad to see it in 2d. but maybe I'm wrong. At any rate I personally loved the 3d version and was very impressed. They didn't do it gimmicky where the only 3d parts were things flying at your face. they made the world just come alive if you ask me.
I hope that after I die, people will say of me: "That guy sure owed me a lot of money.''
or make me sick but it did not.
Would it make me green with the queasies? You know how I am with some of those first person shooters.

Ehh I don't think it would make you queasy. I guess if your really really sensetive maybe it could. I was a little worried myself because I get sick on spinny these days. I can play fsp's though ok witout getting sick. But I didn't find that the 3d really made the movie crazy to view other then make the world come alive really.
I guess worst case make sure there's a 2d version starting like 30 minutes later so if you need to bail on it you can catch it in 2d still. But I think you'd be ok. If not then make sure to let us know so I can call ya a SALLY!
hahahahahahah

Actually I saw it in Round Lake. But the Mills is about the same. It can be hard to find tickets to a 3d showing I've heard. We saw it on a saturday night prime time but got our tickets on line durring the day.
For me it's been rare that I get sick from a game. But i know what you mean there have been a couple times I had to take a break from a FPS do to the queasies.

The only place by me (in FL) that shows it in 3D is IMAX - all regular theaters show it in 2D
I finally caught a chance to see avatar in 3d and amazing!!!! The colors were so vivid and the scenerey so luch and detailed. The storyline was also top notch. I plan on seeing it in 2d possibly in the next coming week or two. I highly recomend it!
I can't watch Avatar in 3D >_< It gives me vertigo to watch any 3D stuff... I watched UP! in 3D and felt nauseous half way through the movie... I'll have to watch Avatar in 2D
