Man I love Bioware ... I grabbed Mass Effect 2 and have played about 10 hours worth of it so far and it's a killer game. I never played Mass Effect 1 before this so I'm probably missing a good chunk of the story, but I'll be playing it after I finish this one (and play through all of the expansions for it, hehe) to catch up. It's pretty cool how you can import your characters from a previous version of the game into the newer version to continue playing him, including all of the consequences for the decisions you've made in the previous version, so at least when Mass Effect 3 comes out, I'll be able to import this toon into it.
The game kind of reminds me of the KOTOR's, but updated and with a different storyline, which is a perk for me, since I loveeeeed the KOTOR's.
I just played more ME2 tonight for a while, and it gets even better as ya get further into it. Cooler cities and in-game cut scenes.
So after playing starcraft 2 now, is it better than the original, or more of the same, but updated graphics?

I have only started last night so I can't comment to much yet. The graphics is awsome and the new units seems to be great.
Yes a lot of the same (still need to harvest ,build and research ) but I am sure the combat stratagies that use to work in SC 1 will no longer be as good because of the new units and abilities.
I will let you know after this weekend what I think
A bunch of people I work with got Starcraft II. I don't know I think I'll be passing. I loved Starcraft I but just seems like more of the same. RTS's are good for a bit but I loose intrest. And from what I hear all the kiddies just zerg ya in the first 5 minutes of the matches then sit there and tell you how much you suck. hehehe

I believe in make the world safe for our children, but not our children's children, Because I don't think children should be having sex.
Mass Effect 2 is hands down the best RPG I've played this generation. As much as I love Dragon Age and Eternal Sonata, and to a lesser degree Lost Odyysey, the world that the loremasters at Bioware created is something special. Its the best sci-fi stuff I've played/watched/read in a long time. I was so into it after the first game that, besides playing through it about 4 times in a row, I went out and bought 2 books(which were written by the lead writer for the games and are thus excellent).
I went through once and loved it, and managed to not have anyone die. I'm going to go through it a second time to get the hard mode achievement as soon as I'm done with my current games. Bioware is becoming my favorite RPG company of all time...with Star Wars K.O.T.O.R. and Dragon age, and of course the Mass Effect titles, they haven't put out a bad game yet and are on their way to dethoring the mighty Square if they keep this up for a while longer
oooh man, I know ... Mass Effect 2 is a great game. I'm about 22-ish hours into it now. The graphics are awesome too. One thing I love about Bioware games is you can tell they must really care about their work, as if it's their little baby or something, because they really make high quality stuff, and as you play it, if you take the time to notice things, they put so many awesome little details (and sounds) in. And I never realized how deep the storyline is. Like ya said, there're books out on it, and a Wiki site that you could sit there for days reading the background on it all.
If I were to find anything to complain about with it, is it might just slightly be a bit too wordy and less action, but just barely, and even then, I like wordy games like this, so it's barely even a complaint for me. Twitchers and adrenaline junkies though might find it a bit boring compared to a wargame or even some MMO's, but if you think of it as more of a "Choose You Own Adventure" book, or a sort of "Live Novel" or Movie, that you're able to take actual part in, and you just sit back and enjoy the scenery and details, it's an absolutely amazing game, just like the KOTOR's.
Can't WAIT for SWTOR!
