I think most who have and use Firefox will say the best feature is the add-on's like Adblock. Well now you can add adblock to MobileSafari.
Now do you have to jailbreak your iphone or ipod? yes
You can read more about it here: clicky
To install AdBlock for MobileSafari, you will need to jailbreak your iPod Touch or iPhone and install Cydia on it.
You probably want to have a look at tutorials on Google if you haven't done it already.
AdBlock is hosted on BigBoss repository, so you do not need to add a new source to Cydia. Simply open Cydia and search for AdBlock.
If you can't find it, make sure you have installed the "Community Sources" package in Cydia.
ahhh cool. Now I know your already did the jailbreak but do you have to do that to add the blacklisted file? Since son of mine ha a ipod touch coming in I would be intrested in this for sure
Yes you do. And since he has a brand new one I'd assume it's the third generation. The new jailbreak that geohot just released will jailbreak him but if his touch needs to be rebooted or the battery dies he has to plug it in and re-run blackra1n to get it rebooted. Sucks. When the iPhone Dev Team releases their tool this might get better.
Thanks for the info. I was reading some up on jailbreaking the other night. I'm still not sure if I will jail break his. Oh it is the 3 gen but since its my sons it will be on his PC (the itunes). I'm just afraid he will update and it will call home so to say and he will void any warranty. He should get his ipod on wed according to fed-ex tracking
You should do a thread on how to jaibreak

If I remember correctly there are two versions of adblockers in Cydia. One is free the other costs a small amount. I never noticed the free one blocking very much content. Not enough to keep it around. At some point I manually replaced one of the files on my iPhone with a file that that had blacklisted all the ad sites just like the file list for AdBlock Plus. You had to go back in and edit the list before putting it on the phone to remove AdMob. Several apps in Cydia rely heavily on AdMob revenue and won't work if you use adblocking. Categories is one and I use it. I don't know if the preset up adblocking blocks AdMob but if anything stops working just un-install the adblocker.
