To me this story is a kind of paradox. A church going man that performs late in the game abortions? I thought doing abortions in the third tri-mester was illegal, I guess I'm wrong. While I am not here to judge anyone for doing what they do, to each their own, I do however firmly disagree with performing an abortion so late into a pregnancy, a fetus can live outside the womb in the third tri-mester and sometimes even before that, the thoughts of what happens to the fetus after it is removed from the womb is very disturbing to me. (I have seen images)
One of the nation's most controversial abortion doctors was gunned down Sunday in his Kansas church as he handed out programs for Sunday services.
An extremist ex-con who was urging anti-abortion protesters to get inside the doctor's church back in 2007 will be charged today, officials said.
Dr. George Tiller, 67, one of only three U.S. doctors who performed late-term abortions, was killed by a single shot inside Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita, where he was an usher.

i'm pretty sure it is illegal to perform these types of abortions. i am all for a woman's choice but i don't believe in late term abortions. doing something like this is a choice you have to make in the correct time-frame, otherwise you're basically killing a baby that can possibly survive, as missb stated.
should this doctor have been murdered? no absolutely not. it's a twisted mentality. kill the "evil" people. when killing itself is in fact evil...

Ok just before I went to work I read this thread. I'll admit I was thinking holy crap this could get ugly. I'm seen subjects like this on other sites just become a full out and out nasty brawl So kudos to everyone at geekdrop for being mature and not flaming and understanding that everyone is entitled to their opinion even if it is not your own.
So while at work I thought about this topic - quite a bit. I even really debated on posting in here, but here it goes....
Ok whether your pro-life or pro-choice it shouldn't really matter - a man was killed and in his own church that is sad. In no way would I ever condone that crime. With that said I am pro-life. I do have strong feelings on what that man did for a living and I find late term abortions horrific. It does bother me that he was gunned down in a church but I will admit I will not mourn his loss for one second.
I guess as a admin I should state that this is my personal opinion and not that of Geekdrop.
This guy was a real piece of crap, he'd perform late term abortions for no reason whatsoever. I think its a morally disgusting procedure at any rate, but I know its has to be legal if its early enough. I don't think killing this guy was the right way to deal with him but I'm certainly not going to feel sorry for him
