Neighbors are all coming over. We have like $400. in fireworks. We'll BBQ (burgers, bratts, and chicken), kids can swim and then we'll watch the fireworks. We can float in the pool on rafts watching them across the lake. Since its mosquito season I'm hoping were not carried off by them *making notes for bug spray* See hanging out in the pool is good, if the bugs get bad you go under water
Georgia is laaaaaame. Fireworks are illegal to buy and shoot off here. However, the town throws a HUGE bash on the drill field of the college. Pretty much everyone comes out and eats and has fun... It's a good time. So long as it doesn't rain, which happens more often then not.
Well they are illegal here too but we can still get them. We have to sign papers saying that were using them to scare animals off of a railroad track. Its so stupid but we all sign them. Oh well if the police come by when we are shooting them off I'll toss out some Thomas the Train piece and plead that is my train .
Well, living in the city where the 4th of July came about... we have all KINDS of fun things going on! It's a 10 day celebration we have every year, started last Friday, til this Sunday. Everyday, every nite. Last Saturday I took Cracker Jack to a baseball game, for the "Dog Days of Summer" where he got to run the bases after the game and got all kinds of free stuff! Then we got to go on the field and watch fireworks. Which we have more of all this weekend.
Even things that aren't "officially" part of the "Welcome America" celebration... Most of our bars have all kinds of specials, and games, and bands, and free stuff. Especially downtown... So much fun to be had, just out on the streets, and along the river. All the buildings are all done up in Red, White & Blue. Man, I should've snapped a picture of it last night. Maybe this weekend. It looks so patriotic. On the actual 4th, we have a re-enactment outside Independence Hall (where the Declaration was signed) where they read it outloud. It's really a cool thing to see. You kinda get the chills. Even MIW was a little touched when I took her there to think of all the people that stood there, and the history that occurred on that spot.
Happy 4th everyone - I'm getting ready for company to walk though the doors in a few but I'm sure I'll pop in and out though out the evening.
Have a safe one and no one blow off any fingers tonight (it makes it hard to type without them). Special thanks to our Military troops who have kept us free and defended us - Happy 4th of July!

Hell. Where else?
I imagine I'll be working, cause that's pretty much all that I get to do. I could really use a vacation or a break of some sort...

I have no idea yet. I'd really like to go see a fireworks show but we'll see.

In a land of wonderous things...
Happy 4th of July all!
Going to a rooftop party early afternoon then heading out to see the fireworks. Yay!
Somewhere between fantasy and reality...
