That is the question. Well at least it is for Tim Bajarin, author of this cool article. Mr. Bajarin ponders whether it's even fair to compare phones such as the Blackberry or new Palm Pre, to such a fine piece of technology as the iPhone... (couldn't help myself..)

According to Mr. Bajarin, while these phones do have great applications, they were designed to be communication-centric phones that run apps, while the iPhone was designed in the likeness of a Mac...so it's more a personal computer that just happens to also let you make calls. Apple designed the iPhone to be like a computer that fits in your pocket and they are working on making that concept even more real. Now with the new 3G S the the iPhone is not only your own portable pocket-sized Mac baby, it's also more like a GPS system than ever. With it's new compass and GPS you're pretty much all set. That's just another part of the experience. So, perhaps the discussion of which cell phone is better shouldn't even include the iPhone...even while lots of those other phones do undoubtedly have their own sort of awesomeness, since the iPhone is on a totally different level it'd be like comparing apple to oranges. So, I think from now on, I will smile upon other phones and just love my baby computer even more.
