I logged into my facebook today and I saw that my local TV station did a story about "Asexuals: Can some people live happily without sex?" My first reaction was hell no, I mean I'm personally a fan of the fun times I guess I just can't comprehend someone not having any sexual feelings. I have a brother in law who states he is "Asexual" but ask anyone in the family and they will say nope he's gay. I could care less if he is gay or not but geez come out of the closet, the doors are wide open we all see. I just can't grasp not having any feelings at all. I dunno I just think your human you have to feel - something.
I guess there is a movement going on for Asexuals. Here is what I dont understand - the article states this:
"It was an unusual coming-out for people who consider themselves members of a fundamental sexual orientation. At an event that celebrated sex of every flavor, one group declared an intention to skip the buffet.
The movement is a testament to how vital sexual identity is to self-worth. But the public emergence of asexuals also raises questions for sexuality researchers -- mysteries involving the fluidity of sexual identity and the link between romance, which many asexuals enjoy, and sexual attraction."
OK first on the "buffet" remark. Ummm if you have romance and you have sexual attraction doesn't that kinda void out the whole "Asexual" aspect? I don't get it, form the sounds of things it makes "Asexual" sound like you really like one side (or both) but your not getting any so lets just say its "Asexual".
What do you think?
