Hi there,
I have Sopcast installed on a laptop and a desktop, both on the same home network. Typing in the channel [Mod note: Private channel edited out. See this thread in our private forum for the channel.] and clicking the button to load it, used to work on both computers, however, doing so on the laptop now tells me instantly with a dialog box that the sopcast channel wasn't found ("The sop address is not valid"), while taking 2 steps over to my desktop pc and doing the same thing will find and load the channel just fine. I have double, triple and quadruple confirmed that I am typing the channel the same on both and doing exactly the same thing, yet no matter how many times I try, sopcast just keeps telling me that the channel doesn't exist on the laptop.
Reinstalling hasn't helped. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Thanks for replying. I wish the Sopcast developers would make a button in the options to "Rebuild Channel Cache Now", and/or automatically rebuild the cache on login. I don't think the "fix" for this is immediately obvious to your average Sopcast user (or even the above average user, like me, ).
I wish they, or anyone for that matter, would make a Sopcast Android app too.

What you described is (supposedly) not a bug, although I tend to agree with you in saying that it is.
The SopCast client will cache the channels list on the local machine (your computer). When you type "[Your Private Channel]" in the address bar, SopCast will look for this channel in the local channel list. If it is not included in the local list, a dialog box will be shown.
("The sop address is not valid")
If you want to update the locale channel list, watch a channel for more than 15 minutes, and the local channel list will be updated automatically.
