News of the Day- June 25, 2009

So, I read a lot of news stories online. I find a good number of them worth reading, but they're not always good enough to post in a thread here on GD. So, I have come up with a solution! I have decided I will compile a thread daily of news threads that I stumble on, and if you have a lot of free time at work or home, you can read over them! Now, since its still early in the day, new news is bound to come... I'll add on as news happen. And your welcome to add your own news threads!

First off. Farrah Fawcett just pased away from cancer. People most remember her as being an Angel for charlie.... May she rest in peace and be a real angel now.

The drama continues for Jon and Kate. You can read about it here. CNN also posted an interesting article about why men cheat. I laughed through the whole thing. CNN, with the help of Oprah.com, posted an interesting story on nagging, as its usually done by those who love us the most... Jon must not have known that.

They ID'd the bodies of the captian and the steward from that plane crash outside of Brazil... So far, they have found around 50 bodies, and no black box.

Lots of techie news today. It was announced that the new Windows 7 would be cheaper then Vista. We're talking about a $40 price difference! Also, porn is coming to the iPhone. With the new parent controls on the system, they are pushing ahead with XXX. The first app approved with have nude models. Something interesting is that Hulu charges more for ads then Fox when it comes to the Simpsons. This is a clear indication that the real money is online these days. Story is going around that Steve Jobs got a transplant super fast because he's so rich... in the end, it sounds like he got to the right hospital at the right time, so it was more knowledge then anything

Some travel tips! First, 10 things that everyone should do while traveling... I really like this list, and agree with eating at the golden arches. They are the culture spots of the world. Then, some interesting and random facts that you might find useful someday. I see a few Georgia things made the list, interesting enough...

A few links to the Iran crisis... Apparently Obama sent a letter to Iran before the elections to try and start talks.... Not much time for talking now, huh? Here is another one, talking about how the US could work with a divided Iran. Though, a planned rally was canceled today after the army beat down another protest.

The Oscars are changing back to their old roots, and there will be 10 best movie chances... After a wonderful movie like the Dark Knight missed the list last year.

In music news, a guy named Elijah Wald wrote a book called "Did the Beatles Destroy Rock 'n' Roll." It's an interesting theory, but HECK NO THEY DIDN'T! And apparently some band might have stolen a song from a kids song... I've never heard of the rock song... Anyone?

Finally, a North Carolina program is paying girls $1 not to get knocked up. There is a lot of debate as to if we should be bribing girls to stay pure or not.
