Ok, to avoid confusion...

First of all, plug in your device; then run the UMPtool program with "administration privileges". At the end, follow the instruction in my first and second post. There's no way it shouldn't work...

Anyway... which version of Windows do you have? (with Windows 7 program works fine).

P.S.: I know this kind of USB storage chip is a pain in the ***. I hope you eventually manage to solve the problem as I did.

Maybe the chip is fouled up... but who knows... so, at this point you have two options:

1) playing around with UMPtools while praying to your favourite god that this messy thing just works;
2) getting another usb pendrive for 7 bucks, not wasting more time.

You know, I'm masochist, I'll go for the first one. But, you know, number two is much MUCH better.

P.S.: I'm using the 32-bit Windows 7's flavor. But compatibility mode should work fine, too. Anyway I think I'll stick with 32 bit version for a while... It's better to leave 64 bit to unix-like systems.
