Hello everyone I'm Patrick of you may call me alpha id you like (& if you dont particularly feel compelled to type out my whole name, for which i wouldnt blame you), I just registered a few minutes agio but ive already utilized all of your wisdom here on several different occasions. I'm fairly computer litrerate and have an older sibling who is a professional but subsequintly i have no doubt that everyone here can still show/teach me loads more. anyway stop in and say hi if you like, or perhaps  ill see you on the boards!

okok, so I'm new here, but now not in other places.
back in the mid 70's I had fun on the old PLATO system, the early pre-cursor to the internet, connected via phone lines to Champagne-Urbana Illinois campus, and it had everything like today, games news chat email and oh yes student learning courses for college.
Obviously by todays standards lowtech, but then it was the future today. So when the internet finally hit I was already a veteran.
