Trapster is an application for getting speed trap alerts on your Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia, Android, Windows Mobile, Palm Pre, Garmin, or TomTom device. We crowdsource speed traps from across the globe, so you can avoid unnecessary speeding tickets.
Trapster is all free. All you have to do is open an account with them, download the Trapster app to your cell, log in from your cell, either manually find your location or Trapster will do a search and find you. When your driving Trapster will alert you as to where red light camera's are, speed traps and many other bits of helpful information.
You can also send in alerts to Trapster by just touching your cell phone at the location of where you saw that red light camera or speed trap.
I downloaded Trapster to my cell, the installation was very easy, and I was up and running a few minutes. I live in a big city with many red light camera's and speed traps and this looks like it could come in very handy and save me some money on tickets.
I saw another report on this somewhere, where one of the biggest users and supporters of it are surprisingly, the police. They figure if people are always slowing down for speed traps, it'll help slow down peopl ein general, since even though it's marked as a trap, it doesn't necessarily mean a cop car will be there. They enter alot of the traps themselves.
I used Trapster and it works for me although it has some issues with regards to its features nevertheless it's very helpful tool for me who always caught by speed traps. Thanks.
Cool site in your link too, thanks.
Citation comes in the mail astonishingly fast. Speed cameras are really irritating because you never know when a citation is going to show up in the mail. Typically, they want money right away or for you to arrive in the courtroom, which can be very hard if you were in a different state when it happened.
