[SOLVED] - Nvidia Drivers Wont Install!
Guys, I'm tearing my hair out, I've tried you method to the letter but I still can't install my drivers, I can't install anything using the 
Nvidia installer or the windows driver options, fails every time.. My pc is in a complicated arcade machine will prove disastrous to reformat, if I use system restore I can get my machine working with the latest Nvidia drivers 320. But these drivers make my machine run slow, my best driver is 314 but now nothing I do will allow my to install them....please please please help guys... Richie
, I think the biggest things are making 100% sure that any remnants of previous Nvidia drivers are removed from your system first, and then making sure that all of the right folder / file permissions are correct. Which OS are you doing this on, Windows 8?
Wow!! My Nvidia driver couldn't even be identified before I did these steps. all worked perfectly and my gaming experience is as good as new ^-^ thank you thank you thank you! Must have been some ownership problems..very interesting

You might want to update this brilliant solution, I had a problem with catalyst control center which was bringing up the fatal 'inf files not found' error and nobody had a solution that worked for me so I installed a card from another computer and tried the Nvidia drivers and got the error that you described. I used the take control file the way that you have instructed, installed the original card and catalyst control center and it worked perfectly so I think the solution that you have discovered covers a much wider windows fault!!!
