Almost 2 years ago, we gave a review here on GeekDrop for one of our favorite software programs, "PhraseExpander" (PE for short).
Way back then it was already beyond useful; in our opinion, it's one of those "absolutely must have" programs, but since then it's gone to a whole new level of awesomeness, and just keeps getting better, since the developer is constantly fixing and improving it.
To describe PE in it's most basic sense, it's a "text expander"; meaning you create any length of text, paragraphs, URLs / Links, you name it, give that text a shortcut, even as little as 2 letters, and from then on within any program you just type those 2 letters and it will fill in whatever you entered as the "full text". You can choose all kinds of different ways for that to happen - with hotkeys, with a menu that you select once those letters are typed, or even automatically. There's also an Auto-Correct section to automatically correct typo's as you type. I say "in it's most basic sense" however, because while many other programs can do this, including some Microsoft Office programs, PE takes it to a whole 'nother level of robustness and customability. As far as I know, it's the only program of it's kind that is this feature packed, accurate, unobtrusive and robust, and it just keeps getting better.
We thought it would be pretty cool to whip up a short "introductory" video about it for anyone who still hasn't even given it a shot. It's literally a program where you're pretty much only limited by your imagination on how to use it in a million ways to make your computing life easier. So, here it is, a quick video, but keep in mind, since the possibilities are virtually limitless, we can only show a very small number of simple examples that what you can do with it. Really though, if you haven't tried it yet, this isn't your standard "hype" ... if you're not using it, you're seriously missing out and you don't even realize how much ... just try it for awhile, play with it, think of ways to use it to your advantage, and you'll see why we say that.
Waste not a second more, you can download it right here: PhraseExpander ... you can thank us later.
