Through the Looking Glass

20 replies [Last post]

Looky Looky fellow Burton fans. I have some newly released photos of Tim Burton's interpretation of Alice in Wonderland set to be released in 2010. Depp as The Mad Hatter and Elfman composing the musical score.. I cannot wait

The following photo of Depp may or may not be the real thing. Rumors are flying that this is simply a Photoshop based on descriptive factors from the Disney press release explaining what the Hatter will look like. Either way it grabbed my attention

I am very curious to hear whether or not you care for Burton films. I have yet to know a lukewarm fan. Either you hate his work or you love it. If you are a fan, what is your favorite?

I  them all with the exception of Wonka. That one was a bit way too out there for me. It is really hard to narrow his work down to just one but I would have to say Nightmare Before Christmas:

(The music by Elfman was fantastic too!)

Sometimes I really think we could be sisters - LOL  Same here - I hated Wonka (really hated it) but I love his other work.  Actually I think my fav of his was Edward Scissorhands.

I loved Edward Scissorhands.... Remember that part where his "father" has a heart attack or something and dies in front of him just after telling him that he was gonna give him hands and Edward tries to grab them but ends up slicing them up?
That part makes me cry...Sad

Re: Through the Looking Glass

I've always been a fan of Tim Burton, he has an unmistakable aesthetic quality to his stuff and Alice In Wonderland is a perfect fit for it. While its not my favorite story(I always found it too trippy and I don't dig trippy) I'll still check it out.
My favorite stuff from him....tough to choose because I like all the ones I do for the same reasons, but I really liked Nightmare Before Christmas and Sweeny Todd. I also thought the 2 Batman movies were pretty good and Sleepy Hollow I always wanted to see brought to the screen so that was cool too
