I was talking to a co-worker this morning and he told me he saw a documentary of Rihanna's Umbrella video. He talked about satanic undertones and even how you can see a demonic face in Rihanna's other video, Don't Stop The Music. I did check it out for myself, and there was an image that can appear to look like a demonic face, but hey I'm still skeptical. I just can't say that there isn't something there, and if you don't believe me, check it out for yourself (in the video it's about 9-10 seconds in):
I circled it so you can see what you're looking for:
Then I read an article on a website, where someone gives their detailed analysis on Rihanna's Umbrella video. It's a bit disturbing the claims they make and what they reference the lyrics and visuals to. Did I buy into the article? Maybe, just a little. Only because as crazy as it sounds, I believe it. It kind of just made sense to me. My job leaves me with nothing to do other than have time to research such things. So I started looking at all the lyrics off her album Good Girl Gone Bad (why may I add is a pretty ironic title given the allegations that are out there about her being possessed). The entire lyrics of Disturbia are a bit...well disturbing. Even the video itself has a dark edge and sort of seems to continue where Umbrella left off.
In this video however, it seems to me that she's disturbed with something that lurks within her soul. Deep, right? I'm not saying that it's the devil or a demon, but something dark. It almost seems like she's fighting to escape it.
Of course, this is just one of my many conspiracy theories. As some of you may remember, I am an X-Files fan and I guess I get a kick out of the strange, unusual, and unexplainable. It also doesn't help that I have so much time on my hands. Well you can all feel free to give me your insight on it all if you're up for a little deep thinking and deep conversation.
