October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month as many of you already know.
There are quite a few National Breast Cancer foundations that you can donate to directly or products you can buy that will contribute at least a portion of their earnings to Breast Cancer research. (susan g komen foundation, pinkribbon, for example)

No money to spare? Just Click (free) to Give here. In January 2009 it was reported that their click-to-give alone raised over 1 Million dollars for free mammograms for women in need.
Breast exams should be done along with your annual physical at the gyno (or at least every 3 years starting at age 20) and you should get a mammogram every year starting at age 40, whether or not you think you need one. Self-exams are so very important too (CHECK your ta-tas with this guide PDF/Print-out of Breast Self Awareness (BSA) Guide), and if you think you may have any abnormalities, DO NOT hesitate to schedule an appointment with your doctor and get a mammogram. I don't care if you think you're "too young" (while it's rare, it still happens!) or that it will eventually go away on its own... It is always better to be safe than sorry. Do not be embarrassed about going to the doctor! Many of us women are. Which leads me to another point, Men can get breast cancer too and it is just as deadly. Though statistics say 1 in 100 or 200 breast cancers are found in men, it can happen. So men, we all know you hate to go to the doctor--period. But bottom line, if you notice anything unusual: be a man and make an appointment to get it checked out!
I am celebrating National Mammography Day by scheduling my annual mammography & ultrasound our Breast Center. (See, don't let anyone tell you you are too young to be concerned about your breast health, I am 25 and I have to get annual checkups. At this point, I do have abnormalities that have increased in concern since my last checkup. Hey! The bright side is that I have been told by my doc that I will get FREE --ins-covered--plastic surgery!! WOOT WOOT!!! Plant some D-cups in there while yer at it! )
I will let you all know how it goes
I'm kinda depressed that the only thing that's been feeling me up in the past few years has been a machine but i'll take what i can get jk.
Anyways, take care of your ta-tas! And spread the word to all the women in your life! It could save their life! Early detection is SO important!
And, Ladies, i hear Dogg's offering free assistance with the self exams jk

"Tune in Tokyo!"
Criss, who played drums for KISS and was known as "Catman," offered this advice to men who spot lumps in their breast: "Don't sit around playing Mr. Tough Guy. Don't say 'It's going to go away.' It might not and you might not see life anymore..."
ahhh thanks for reminding me I have my script to get one done in my purse. I know I need to have it done and I do but I'm dragging my feet in getting it done so this thread was a good kick in the azz. The last girl who did mine I swear must have been PMSing because some how she squeezed them till they were pancakes and just when I couldn't breath cranked it some more. However yes it is very important to have it done.
Sorry dogg I think I'll leave you to missb and Geekgirl. GG you want D's on your tiny frame - you'll fall over. Hell I would like to be reduced down to a D
Even with a mammogram its important to feel the tata's every month - be it you or be it the partner some one should feel the tata's
OK if you don't know how to properly feel the girls then here you go.
Single & Not Looking
