So I see now they both give you a real email address. Is it a full POP3 account? How do I check and read it? Can I set the up as real email in Gmail, Outlook or Mozilla ThunderBird for example?

Ok facebook I have NOOOOOOOOO Idea on.

For myspace no you can not pop forward it.  You have to read it on myspace but you can change some options on it HERE.  You can block certain domains and such, set up a spam filter - basic stuff like that.

Thanks smartmom! I'm not so sure I have any use for it then if I can't use it like a regular email. And if they are trying to make it a webmail replacement for say Gmail or Hotmail, it doesn't seem like many will use it either seeing that many companies and schools block social networks.

Well besides the basic PM's I get on myspace I have never used the email addy they gave me.  So I tried it out tonight and tested it.  I sent myself a email with my gmail account to my myspace account and it actually worked.  Now will I use it - nah but you can send emails to non myspace accounts and via versa.

I just emailed myself so I'll have to check out the internet headers there to see if is shows my info or does it show myspaces IP like webmail.
