The new Zune HD, the Apple ipod Touch's competition is scheduled for release on September 15.   This new Zune will be the only Zune that you'll be able to buy.  Microsoft has discontinued all other Zunes

"It’s hard to work out why this is. On one hand, Apple’s figures show dwindling sales for old-style iPods and increasing adoption of iPod Touches and iPhones. And seeing as Apple sells the majority of MP3 players, this market trend makes sense for Microsoft to get out early, especially as the Zune was not a great success."

So if you want to get an older model Zune, now is the time to do it.

I my Zune.  I Currently have the 120 GB Zune and its just awesome.  I'm seriously bummed about this.  I understand why they are doing it but not everyone likes touch screens.  I'm not a fan of touch screens.  I'm always putting my zune in my pocket (along with my blackberry) and touch screens and I do not get along.  My archos is a touch screen but its a little to big for my pocket and I keep that in a case.  Now my zune is also in a cute pink leather case but still I don't want a touch screen.

Now on the flip side my son's ipod - may it RIP died last month.  He has been looking, drooling and studing the ipod Touch and the zune touch and when the zune goes on sale he is getting the 32GB one.  He worked all summer cutting the grass and working in the back of my shop at work so he is ready to go as soon as they hit the floor.
