SO has anyone else heard any news about facebook removing notifications?  I got this today in my notifications:

"You action is required! Facebook is removing notifications on Monday. If you want to still be in touch with us, visit LivingSocial and click the Add Bookmark button or become a fan of LivingSocial. 3 hours ago"

I personally like the notifications - stupid facebook if they do remove them.

I think they are removing certain application notifications. Isn't Living Social an application?  I know as of tomorrow you will not receive any more Honesty Box notifications, you have to give them your email address and you will be notified that way, or you can just randomly pop into your honesty box to check to see if you have any comments.

They are removing notifications completely for a way to "simplify" facebook due to the influx of millions of users in the apst few years. I think it's dumb personally. Every update they do takes more and more features away from us. They are moving backwards, instead of forwards

How is that simplifying things? sounds to me like its making things more difficult for the users.  I agree, they seem to be moving backward instead of forward.
