So have you heard the Movie AVATAR is racist? OK you're saying why? Well towards the end of the movie two WHITE men look at Jake Sully (the blue 9' Avatar) "How does it feel to betray your own race?". There ya go that one line has turned some into a anti Avatar protesters shouting out its racist. All because James Cameron (the writer/director) has choosen it to be said by two white men and not a black and a white guy.
Yahoo has reported:
Since the film opened to widespread critical acclaim three weeks ago, hundreds of blog posts, newspaper articles, tweets and YouTube videos have said things such as the film is "a fantasy about race told from the point of view of white people" and that it reinforces "the white Messiah fable."
I honestly don't see the racial slur here. OK so what if they had a black and a white say the one saying "How does it feel to betray your own race?" would the Oriental and Latin think its racist? Lets face it James Cameron made the Avatar creatures blue, personally I prefer pink so should I take offense at the blue? Where does it end? I honestly think some people just like to bitch to hear themselves. They need a soap box to stand on and they will do anything to do it.
Anyone here offended by the movie? Do you really feel its racist?
Anyone who thinks it's racist is a dumbass, period.
I agree. In my opinion it is people that are racist themselves that would see things like this
as a racist comment because thier brains are "tuned" that way.
I so agree - I mean enough is enough. Its such a stupid argument
I haven't seen the movie but from that statement alone, its total BS... You're right ppl just want something to complain about, enough already!!
Oh, ggeeeeeeeezzz!!! That's a bunch of baloney. I absolutely LOVED that movie, and I didn't even get a hint that it was being racist at all. People always are going to complain about anything they can.
When he says Race, he actually means Species.
Because Quaritch believes that Jake betrayed humanity by siding with the Na'vi.
If it was an all out war for survival, and unobtanium is neccessary for humanity to survive back on desolate Earth, then he'd be correct. Jake did in such a case betray his species. But if it was just business, saying Jake betrayed humanity would be a tad over the top.
Conclusion: People who believe it to be racist, are completely out of thier ing minds.
its good
Out of my mind
Anyone who thinks it's racist is a dumba$$, period.
I hate people sometimes...no scratch that, ALL the time
