I had to take my middle son to the dr's yesterday for a hurt knee. While there we both got our flu shots. I need to get my other kids and hubby the shot now.
Our company has a day where the people (nurses? medical people?) come here and give flu shots (only if you want one). I will be getting one then. Last year i didn't get one and i was fine, kiddo got one (always thimerisol-free) and got super sick. The year before i got one as well as my kiddo and then right after we got the norwalk virus....bad bad nasty stuff.
Apparently they never get the 'strains' right to protect against. But i figure some protection is better than none... I wonder if anyone will be getting the H1N1 vaccine???????
If they would have had the H1N1 vaccine available I would have but they didn't so I didn't. I always get the flu shot. I'm on a arthritis med that lowers my immune so I need to. Better safe then sorry.
WOW you know I never thought of that. Its not your right, don't they grow it in eggs? Glad you don't get sick. Does your daughter get it? Just curious.
My work just got the following email about our flu shot clinic:
I am sorry to inform you that we will have to reschedule your clinic to Mid December. We just found out that the Vaccine Manufacturers are postponing their production of the seasonal flu vaccine in order to make the H1N1 Vaccine mandated by the Federal Government. On Friday 10-9-09, our vaccine shipment did not come in and we will not be able to keep our scheduled October flu clinics. There is now a nationwide shortage in the seasonal flu vaccine until Mid November. When there is enough H1N1 Vaccine in circulation, they will start the process of producing the seasonal flu vaccine again. This has caused us to move all of our October flu clinics into Mid December. We will be contacting you directly to reschedule your clinic(s).
Ooh! That was a good idea! I called Walgreens and they said they do not have it anymore either, I asked if she had any recommendations and she said that she knew that UWHealth was out of it, Dean, Walgreens, everywhere around here...
I mentioned the reason (the email my work got) and she became upset saying that wasn't true at all.
That it's just that so many people got the flu shot. *shrugs* i guess who knows?
i'm on the phone with the national--not my local one again-- walgreens take care clinic (on hold) right now so maybe i will find out....
**they will be re-stocked the 1st wk of november** (or at least that's when they're supposed to be restocked) i hope so, that's still a lot better than mid-december for pete's sake!
Check with your local Walmart - our local ones are giving it. Bring a friend to take a pic of ya crying peopleofwalmart.com needs more pics
Call the local walk in clinics they may still have them and call your doctor.

The flu shot is not vegan so I will not partake. I never do and I almost never get the flu. We get them for free at work but not me.

Now if you go and get the flu shot and pay the $20.+ for it will they reimburse you? I know alot of places will take your insurance (like CVS).
